With the widespread use of mobile phones, UFO sightings have increased globally — yet few of these are truly Unidentified Flying Objects. Meteorological and astronomical phenomena, as well as balloons and satellites, are often mistaken for UFOs, sparking public fascination.
Brazil is no exception: in recent years, numerous alleged sightings have come to light—many of which were later revealed to be cases of mistaken identity.
This is where the Esquadrão UFO steps in, a team of experts led by ufologist Rafael Amorim (also known as “Chefe Bala”), dedicated to distinguishing fact from speculation. Joining Rafael on the squad are: Marco Petit (ufologist, author, and President of the Brazilian Commission of Ufologists/CBU), Thiago Ticchetti (ufologist and National Director of MUFON Brazil), Fernanda Pires (International Director of MUFON South and Central America), Toni Kurowski (ufologist and forensic expert), Aleksander Lima (photo and video analyst), and Prof. Dr. Carlos Jung (science and technology analyst).
In each episode, the team takes on the challenge of investigating intriguing reports from various regions of Brazil. Combining fieldwork, technical analysis, and scientific knowledge, the Esquadrão UFO gathers evidence, interviews witnesses, conducts tests, and examines records to determine the origin of each case.
Back in the lab, the team deepens its investigation with the help of specialists in ufology, science, forensics, and image analysis, cross-referencing data and hypotheses to get as close as possible to the truth. What appears extraordinary may have surprising explanations — or remain an enigma. In the first season, *Esquadrão UFO* travels to cities of Brazil such as Porto Alegre (RS), Iporanga (SP), Caxias do Sul (RS), Lajeado (RS), São Paulo (SP), Santa Cruz do Sul (RS), Avaré (SP), General Câmara (RS), Ipuaçu (SC), and Campos Novos (SC), investigating everything from previously unreported cases to landmark events in Brazilian ufology.
Featuring stunning footage, compelling accounts, and detailed analysis, the series invites viewers to follow every step of these investigations. After all, when faced with the unknown, there is only one certainty: the truth is out there—and *Esquadrão UFO* is ready to find it.
The series *Esquadrão UFO* is a co-production between HISTORY CHANNEL and CLIP PRODUTORA, created, directed, and produced by Leo Sassen.
